Apocalyptic of the Day: Will to Create.

08 Jan

“Admiration for a quality or an art can be so strong that it deters us from striving to possess it.” – Nietzsche.

Consider this quote and the alternative meanings of possession (wherein one earns through work the ability to have the talent to do X).  The point is simply this: you have the ability and the chance to Will yourself to possess the talent that you so admire in your favorite artists, writers, people, &c.  Strive to possess the ability, rather than to admire one who has the abilities you desire.  Energy is better spent working than in gazing in or at another.
